Jones Makes Wrong Decision

When Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware was let go on March 11, he became a free agent. Since he was one of the dominating defensive ends in the league, he was picked up by the Denver Broncos for a three-year contract only three days later.

Ware signed a $30 million contract with Vice President, John Elway. Denver was his first stop. Ware closed the deal with no hesitation; he was officially signed.

Choosing a great team to sign to, Ware will be playing with the former AFC champions. Weighing 258 pounds and standing at 6’4 inches tall, Ware is going to be a star athlete for Denver. He will do well because the team has a great defense. The Cowboys really didn’t do anything for Ware; there weren’t people on that team that were on his level of talent and aggressiveness.

Something mysterious to me is that although Ware played great as a Cowboy, why was he the first to be cut this year? Of all people they choose to cut, owner Jerry Jones chose Ware. Salary cuts? Maybe. However, if I were the one to choose whom to cut, I’d choose Tony Romo, without a doubt.

Jones is going to realize that cutting Ware was a big mistake and they should’ve gotten rid of Romo instead. That would’ve been a better salary cut for the Cowboys, but that is the team’s loss.

Ware has played with the Cowboys since 2005 but now will be playing with Denver for the next three years. That’s what Denver needs, a good defensive end that will dominate on the field. Ware is going to play a vital role and the Cowboys are going to realize that without Ware their defense is going to get shut down.
