After six years, actor Kevin James returns to his Segway in the sequel “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2,” which was released last week. But this time, the film didn’t take place in his hometown of New Jersey but in the city that never sleeps Las Vegas.

Actor Paul Blart (Kevin James) takes his daughter Maya (Raini Rodriguez) to a security-guard expo. Maya has also been admitted to a prestigious college, but has yet to tell her father. As expected, there is a generic villain, Vincent (Neal McDonough), who is out to steal pieces of art with his team. But, no fear, the ultimate, and perhaps only, security guard is there.

In comparison to the first film, I’d say this one was better based on the set and overall production, but in the case of the plot, they’re pretty much the same. They both have lots of silly action that is sure to make you laugh.

Blart’s relationship with his daughter is exposed more in this film, but the movie could have honed in even more to make it stronger. The Las Vegas setting upped the ante and demonstrated the determination of Blart as a security guard.

The film was entertaining. The funniest part was probably when Blart was dancing in a Cirque du Soleil show. Paul Blart continuously gets hurt, which amuses the audience greatly. It’s sure to appeal to many, but mainly kids and teenagers.

Adults would probably think this movie is pretty dumb and childish. You could easily predict what’s going to happen next throughout most of the movie. It contained a handful of cheesy lines, but those are always funny.

As Paul Blart stated it in the movie, “Security is a mission, not an intermission.” So, you should watch the film if you’re in for his entertaining mission and ready to see another dose of Paul Blart.
