Holiday Lights to See with Family

Over the holiday break things can get very boring, so why not try a new family tradition and check out lights in the DFW area.

Prairie Lights
Over four million lights and two miles of path highlight this drive through experience. Located at Joe Pool Lake, Prairie Lights also has a Holiday Village to stop at in the middle. Here for an additional price, there is food, rides and even Santa. Try to avoid this place on weekends because the traffic backs up for miles.

Interlochen

Over 200 homes on multiple blocks decorate their houses with everything from inflatables to window displays. This drive through display is a lot less commercial feeling than Prairie Lights. Participants have been enchanting people of all ages with their extravagant lights for more than 35 years.

Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas

Enjoy an exciting day with fast roller coasters then transition to a relaxing day of Christmas lights and fake snow. Even though this makes for an expensive day if you don’t have a pass, the holiday experience is in full swing here. From vendors who sell hot chocolate to a real snow hill, this is truly a unique experience. Bring some extra cash for treats.

Gaylord Texan: Ice Nutcracker Show
Take a real adventure by visiting the Ice exhibit. While the theme changes yearly, the below freezing temperatures require guests to bundle up with cozy blue parkas before taking a stroll. Two million pounds of hand carved ice sculptures towering over visitors will melt even the coldest of hearts. This is simply amazing.
