With a score of 44 to 37, the Varsity football team won against the Midway Panthers last Friday night in Waco.

“I feel pretty good,” Quarterback Devin Williams said. “We stayed in it as a team and got the win.”

After leading in the first two-quarters, the score was tied up by half time.

“They rallied back in the second quarter and tied it up 17-17, (but) I was still confident in my team,” Wide Receiver Jyron Russell said.

After losing the first game to the state champion’s Ennis, the Wolves have a record of 2-1.

“The rankings really don’t mean anything to us,” Coach Tommy Neal said. “We pay attention to the games.”

Russell said that the boys will make it to playoffs again, if they keep working hard and playing as a team.

He said, “Last Friday night we played our best game of the season.”

The next game will be against Seguin High School at 7:30 p.m., on Sept. 18, at R.L. Anderson Stadium.

“We are excited to get out there and do what we do,” Williams said, “It should be a good game.”
