NHS Offers Tutoring Sessions in Library

To help students in various subjects, the school’s National Honor Society (NHS) is hosting a tutoring session every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school.

“I’ve been able to review all of the things that I’ve learned over the years,” senior Fatema Dohadwala said. “People of all grade levels are welcome to attend.”

The NHS is sponsored by teacher Erica Marburger.

“As a teacher of the tutors I (watch) their math skills grow,” she said. “It was actually Emmeron Bogg’s idea in 2013 to start it and we have been doing it ever since.”

The sessions end at 4:30 p.m.

“Tutoring is offered so that members can help out other people regardless of if they’re in NHS or not,” senior Johnson Bui said.

The tutors are given volunteer hours in exchange for their work.

“I also find a lot of satisfaction in helping others learn and teaching them things they may need help with,” she said. “I tutor because I like meeting new people and helping them.”
