As a fundraiser for HOG Week, Student Council will be hosting Night of the Arts, an event that showcases students’ talents, Thursday night at 7 p.m., in the PAC.

“It’s a great feeling knowing that I’m being a part of something that will help others simply by doing what I love,” senior Karla Reynoso, who will be singing, said.

Tickets to the talent show will be $10 at the door.

“This HOG Week is to raise awareness for autism,” junior Roman Russell said. “I want people to know that every bit of money counts because it goes to a bigger purpose.”

Sophomore Hami Tran is performing a solo song as well as one in a trio.

“I’m (singing) Can’t Help Falling in Love for the trio act and for my solo I’m doing a song called Sunshine,” she said. “Both of these songs are love songs, so they remind me of the people that I care about and adore every day.”

Reynoso has also been helping with other things surrounding the charitable week.

“I’m in Teen Leadership so I’ve been helping with some of the planning and organizing of shirts and decorations,” she said. “It’s a great experience and I always do whatever I can to help out during the week.”

Russell is also performing in the trio with Tran.

“I enjoy how (Night of the Arts) gives people a chance to express their creativity for a broad audience,” he said. “It has helped me understand the importance (of HOG Week) and it fills me with joy knowing that I’m contributing to raising awareness.”
