Students Bid on Seniors to Raise Funds

In order to raise money for prom Student Council held a senior auction Nov. 3-7, starting the bidding at $5 for the chance to “own” a student for a day.

“It felt good to know that I had been chosen to (participate in) the senior auction,” senior Kadeja Scott said.

Soccer Coach Lyndsey Kimball bid on two seniors.

“She bid $10 on me and another student,” senior Kiara Ennett said.

Kimball said she wanted to assist in raising money for the senior class.

“I know them well and I wanted to help out,” she said.

The volunteers are often asked to wear silly costumes or follow the highest bidder around all day.

“I made them dress up as angels because why not,” Kimball said.

Kimball gave her seniors other tasks as well.

“I had to go to everyone of her class periods and say hi,” Ennett said.

The event made for an interesting day, Kimball said.

“I saw a boy in a cheerleading uniform,” she said.

For Scott, it was no shock to be involved.

She said, “I wasn’t surprised because everyone loves me.”
