With a score of 30-7, the Varsity Football team defeated the Red Oak Hawks last Friday at Billy Goodloe Stadium.

“We had a good victory,” Coach Gysamuell Humes said. “I’m super proud of the guys coming out here and breaking the two game losing streak.”

The team’s preseason record was 1-2.

“It feels great to start off district 1-0,” junior Jyron Russell said. “The week of practicing and game planning came through.”

The team held Red Oak out of the endzone.

“Some unexpected things happened on the field,” senior Lamarque Davis said. “We knew we would come out here and win but I didn’t expect to see both the offense and defense dominate the way we did.”

The last time the team made it to state was in 2011.

“We need to be more of a unit,” senior Willie Miles said “We all need to focus and come together so we can accomplish our goal and make it to state. It’s time for Timberview football to be back on the map.”
