Rangers Continue to Improve

Rangers Continue to Improve

Despite a rough start to the season, the Rangers are looking strong. With a standing record of 5-5, the Arlington based team is improving as the days go by.

New catcher Brett Nicholas led the Rangers in a 7-3 win against Seattle Mariners Monday night with 2 for 4, at one point getting a double and ending the game with two RBIs. This is a promising play for a rookie that shows an optimistic season for the Rangers overall.

Sports writers from USA Today predict that the Rangers will place at a pretty respectable 85-77, finishing second in the AL West Division. This does seem to be reasonable given the fact that Pitcher Yu Darvish seems to be returning to his old self, improving his throwing and batting averages.

A 90-72 score seems like a reasonable place to put them at the end of the season. A good lineup and solid outfield work are sure to put them ahead this season. It’s hard to give a good statistical average while trying to be a realistic spectator that reflects on the previous years, because I will always be shouting, “Let’s go Rangers,” at every game.
