The Varsity Boys Basketball Team defeated the Lufkin Panthers 63-51, in Fairfield on March 2, advancing them in playoffs to the Regional Tournament.

“It feels great,” sophomore Isaac Likele said. “It’s my first time being in this position but were not finished yet.”

The boys increased their postseason record to 3-0.

“We’ve been practicing hard and running through plays,” senior Colin Hadnot said. “(We’re) going through plays and just getting stronger mentally.”

The next game will be tomorrow at the Garland Curtis Culwell Center against the Mesquite Wranglers, who have a 30-5 record, at 6 p.m.

“Our scout team has done an amazing job of giving us information about our opponent,” Head Coach Duane Gregory said. “It helps us so we know what to improve on and puts us in a good position to win games.”
