With a score of 69-56, the Varsity Boys Basketball team beat the Grapevine Mustangs last Tuesday in the first home game.

“I feel like this season is going to be good,” sophomore Chris Mullins said. “We have a hard district but we can make it to playoffs.”

The team outscored the Mustangs by double digits after entering the second quarter.

“We are like a family, and that helps us win games,” senior Colin Hadnot said. “We’re like brothers.”

Head Varsity Coach Duane Gregory said the team works as a special unit and that they can make a big run in the playoffs.

“The comradery this team has makes it unique,” he said. “They get along and understand each other and that will help us win games.”

The next game will be tomorrow at home against Seguin at 8 p.m.

“Our expectations for this season is to get to state,” Hadnot said. “We will take it one game at a time.”
