With a score of 49-24, the Varsity Football Team lost to the Lake Ridge Eagles last Friday night at Newsom Stadium.

“We were focused,” Safety Colin Loftis said. “ It was just the little things like being disciplined, listening to the coaches, and making mental mistakes.”

From the start, the team was down in the first quarter, and by the half the team was down 42-17.

“The coaches were disappointed,” Safety Willie Miles said. “Our coach (Robert Johnson) knew what we could do, he knew we had a talented team and wanted us to go out there and do our job.”

From start to finish, Lake Ridge continued to run up the scoreboard against the Wolves defense. The final score was 49-24.

“It never helps to lose part of your team,” Offensive and Defensive Coach Bobby Gray said. “But it’s important the other players step up and play.”

Homecoming, the next game, will be against Waxahachie at Newsom Stadium this Friday, at 7:30 p.m.

“We have to just do our job this next game,” Center Kyle Albertson said. “We can pick each other up when were down and be more motivated.”
