Technology Comes with Concerns

Technology+Comes+with+Concerns

If you’ve ever stopped and looked around, then you would see all of your friends on some technological device. It seems like you can never get someone’s full attention, because they’re too busy taking a selfie or scrolling on Twitter. Don’t get me wrong; technology isn’t completely bad. It’s really helpful in many situations, but it has definitely changed the way the world works.

Although I’m also guilty of being completely consumed with my phone, I can still take a step back and see the impact technology is having on our society. As technology gets more advanced, you can see people becoming more and more obsessed. It feels like people are beginning to be controlled by who liked their posted or who’s online right now.

No one has privacy now. All of your information is put online, there for anyone to see. Although most sites have a private option, is your stuff really private? Hackers are really powerful people and it doesn’t take much for them to get to all the information that you’ve ever put on the Internet. The rate of people getting their identity stolen has gone up much higher since technology has become more accessible. It’s so easy for people to save anything you’ve put online and use it in the future.

With all this access to so many things, you can’t wait to see what else is online. After a while you realize six hours have passed by and all you did was stare at a screen. This problem slowly progresses to the point that everywhere you go you have to have some sort of technological device with you.

We’ve become puppets to technology. People need to stop and realize that life is passing by them, and all their time is being wasted online. When you get bored the first thing you think of is to go online. Instead, technology should be limited, and we should learn how to balance our social life with our online life. Please learn that technology isn’t everything and when you do go online, be careful.
