The Ridiculous 6 Worth Watching

The western comedy “The Ridiculous 6”, from Netflix starring Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider and Jorge Garcia in a band of outrageously funny and goofy characters, is a well-written movie.

The plot revolves around the misadventures of White Knife (Sandler) and his five brothers, who reunite in an effort to save their father who has been kidnapped by his former gang. The brothers must ride across the country, while coming up with a sum of $50,000, which they collect by stealing from those they believe deserve to be stolen from, to pay for their father’s life.

The best way to describe the movie is slapstick. But the dirty jokes, satire and action scenes make it more than just a forgettable run of the mill comedy. The characters themselves even have some arcs with hopes, desires, regrets and feelings that make their fictitious characters seem more real.

At the same time, the repetitive nasty toilet humor may tire some out. Also, the surprise plot twist toward the end is in no way surprising. This is a good film but don’t expect anything more than a comedy.

This movie isn’t a critically acclaimed masterpiece but it’s a fun movie to sit on the couch and enjoy with friends. If you’re in the mood for a few laughs, then this is for you.
