Last week was the return of many popular shows on ABC and Fox TV networks, which included Scandal, How To Get Away With Murder (HTGAWM) and Empire. If you are just now joining in on the madness in these shows, here is a recap of last season.

Scandal
In the finale on season four, District Attorney David is in court getting Jake and others to confess about their roles in B613 and Operation Remington, but after the hearing every juror was murdered. Mellie, the President’s wife, was responsible for these deaths after being blackmailed by Rowan. While this is going on, Olivia discovers that the Head of the CIA is why B613 exists, but she can’t do anything about it because she’s arrested and signs a document denying B613 ever existed. Fitz finds out about Mellie’s actions and kicks her out of the White House and fires Cyrus. Quinn finds out that Huck, through Rowan, is responsible for the murders of the grand jurors. Olivia has her dad arrested for embezzlement. Jake says goodbye to Olivia and she chooses Fitz.

Now on their fifth season, this show is becoming more and more popular. The show gives us an inside look on the government and the way we view politics. The show is getting deeper into the White House, and more drama filled with Olivia and Fitz’s new budding romance. If any of this sounds appealing, then I highly recommend that you go back and watch this on Netflix, from the start.

How To Get Away With Murder (HTGAWM)
In the finale on season one, Annalise makes the Keating Four put Rebecca through a show trial, presenting evidence to convince Annalise that Rebecca killed Lila. Rebecca is not willing to work and convinces Wes that she isn’t responsible. In the end, Annalise decides to release Rebecca from the basement only to report that she has already been set free. Michaela gets drunk after realizing Laurel revealed she had her ring the whole time. Connor returns home to find his “boyfriend” Oliver crying because his HIV test came back positive. Wes stays behind and Annalise makes sure that he believes that Sam was the only who could have killed Lila. Once he leaves, Annalise and Frank meet in the basement to talk about the plan to get rid of Rebecca’s body, which is revealed to be dead under the stairs. They both believe that one of the Keating Four committed the murder.

Now on their second season, this is a major hit. The show is very suspenseful. You are constantly wondering what is going to happen next. Who will be the next one to end up dead?

Empire
In the finale on season one, Lucious names Jamal the successor CEO of Empire. Lucious finds out that Cookie tried to kill him, so he fires her again. Vernon tries to make amends with Andre, but they get into a fight. Rhonda interferes and accidentally kills Vernon. Rhonda tells Andre not to call the police, and informs him that she is pregnant. As Lucious gets ready to perform at his legacy concert, he gets arrested for allegedly killing Bunkie, when he really did. While Lucious thinks Cookie surrendered him to the police to take revenge and facilitate the take over, Agent Carter’s witness wasn’t Cookie at all it was Vernon.

Now on their second season, this show has people singing 24/7. The great returning and new actors and actresses and amazing new music make fans want more. You’ll be sure to get a song caught in your head.

These shows are highly addicting and really interesting to watch. You can catch Empire on FOX 4 at 8p.m. on Wednesdays. Scandal and HTGAWM are on ABC at 8p.m. and 9p.m. on Thursdays.
