Do you want to build a snowman? Well, Menzel has a whole album targeting the subject of winter and the holidays.

“Idina Menzel: Holiday Wishes” ranked at number 13 on Billboard 200. This is her most successful solo album yet. Although it was released Oct. 14, the album sold 33,000 copies in its sixth week.

The album incorporates traditional songs such as “Do You Hear What I Hear” and “Silent Night,” but also cute tunes such as “Holy Jolly Christmas” that will remind you of your childhood.

“The Christmas Song” and “White Christmas” will have you feeling the holiday magic. It shows the talented artist’s true range. Menzel sings the songs so well that it feels like she was meant to sing them.

At first, “When You Wish Upon A Star” took me by surprise since the only time I hear the popular tune is before I’m about to watch “Monsters Inc.,” but Menzel’s execution was so spot on that it seemed like the song was a Christmas Eve lullaby.

“Baby It’s Cold Outside” features singer Michael Buble. The pair is truly extraordinary, but not together. The duet was bittersweet to me since Buble sounds like he fit the mid-tone tempo, but Menzel’s voice seems to overpower the carefree tune.

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” proves that someone other than Mariah Carey can sing the hit tune tastefully. It’s one of the few upbeat tracks that you can dance to while decorating the tree.

From the whole album, “December Prayer” stands out the most to me. The song talks about the search for peace and truly connects to the message she was looking for. It’s the only track that the singer co-wrote herself.

There are many remakes of holiday music, but Menzel’s album is one that will be timeless.
