Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, a favorite taco spot for many, has finally arrived in Mansfield. Fans will no longer have to drive to Arlington or Fort Worth. The new spot looks similar to the others with the signs of a good time waiting to happen. People smiling, the smell of fresh tacos, and an outside patio to spice up the “street taco” feel.

The atmosphere on the inside reflects the out; the lively music, televisions streaming sport channels and the scent of fresh cooked food follows you inside as you feel right at home in this little piece of heaven. Walking through the restaurant, apparel is for sale on the wall, like baseball caps for $12 and cup “koozies” for $3. Faux fish pose on the wall to give the place a little bit of a country feel.
    
The first visit, the food and service were not what I expected of the chain. After we ordered our meal and sat down to eat, we found out that they had messed up our order and given us regular shrimp tacos instead of the “California Baja” tacos. They also did not put any dressing on the salad, even though we asked for some on the dish. The food tasted like something I could have easily cooked with the right ingredients. The experience just didn’t live up to the popular name and well-known food.

Wanting to be fair, I went again. I was pleasantly surprised with the service. The waitress was very polite and asked a lot of questions. She made it easy for me to read the menu and had many recommendations. I finally decided on some nachos, and they were great. The nachos tasted more sophisticated compared to just regular nachos you would get from Taco Bell. My friend’s chips and queso with Fuzzy Dust also stood out as a fan favorite. Add the meat at an upcharge for an even better taste.

Overall, Fuzzy’s has a great atmosphere with lively music and people watching football on the television. Just a warning, the restaurant gets extremely busy during games. The eatery, located next to Lifetime Fitness in Mansfield, is a great spot to hang out with friends after school or to come with the family and enjoy the food.
