In order to recruit members for the Color Guard, the team will be visiting Coble Middle School on April 29, to perform a Hip-Hop routine.

“We’re going to tell the students what guard is about and show them what we do so we can encourage them to join,” sophomore Alyssa Munoz said.

The team placed third in championships.

“We fought hard for the place we’re in and I loved being able to receive a medal for my last year on the team,” senior Ashley Koch said. “The connection we have is amazing.”

This is the second year the team will go to Coble.

“I want the kids to know how we all bond as a team and work together to be better,” Munoz said.

Students will watch individuals perform solos and hear what the team has to offer.

“When I first joined, I wish I had known how hard it would be,” Koch said.

Sophomore Myrna Ebeh said the routine is sure to be entertaining.

“I hope that we have a lot more people join guard next year so we can have a big team and an even greater season,” she said.

The sport may not interest everyone, but Koch believes she can encourage others to give it a try.

“Even with all the difficulties, the experience is something you won’t get anywhere else,” she said. “Guard is like a second home to most of us.”
