Tarrant County College (TCC) tuition fees for all dual credit students were waived for the 23-24 school year by the TCC Board of Trustees on Aug. 8.
“I feel a lot more relieved that I won’t have to use my own money to pay for my class,” senior Vanessa Espinoza said.
Students saved the regular $115 tuition fee per course.
“Now that I don’t have to pay for my classes, I can save up for my college classes in the future,” senior Tryna Nguyen said.
Those who have already paid will be refunded during the fall semester.
“If TCC had done this every year, I would have definitely taken more classes,” Nguyen said.
TCC was able to waive the cost of dual credit tuition for the 2023-24 school year with the addition of the Texas House Bill 8, which allows students to enroll in dual credit courses at no additional cost.
Nguyen said, “I hope the fee waiver continues to encourage more students to get their college credit in high school.”
