Extra Tutoring Help for EOC

Alfredo Rendon, Staff Writer

In preparation for EOC exams as the semester comes to a close, teachers are holding tutorials every Tuesday and Thursday to assist anyone who needs help.

“We can go over anything the student missed, and see where they can improve,” English I teacher Peter Downing said.

English II/III teacher Cindy Malone said if they come and are willing to try, they can definitely get a lot out of the session.

“Kids should take more incentive and come when a teacher says it’s a good day to come,” she said.

Downing said kids have to commit to the tutorials.

“If tutorials (are) ever going to be successful, it just can’t be them coming in at the last second,” he said.

Students need to start being more proactive with their work, Malone said.

“A counselor, teacher or a parent will say something and then the kid will come, otherwise I don’t see them,” she said.

Downing said the students have to be willing to let the tutorials help them.

He said, “We try to do what we can.”
