Blood Drive Forms Due Next Week

In order to get the paperwork done before winter break, Student Council will be handing out forms for those who wish to donate blood during all lunches tomorrow.

“It’s important to donate blood because you might be helping someone save someone’s life and not even know it,” junior Mollie Via said.

The blood drive will be on Jan. 6, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in the library.

“People need it (blood) in our community,” senior Trey Bolton said. “It’ll be a good thing to do and give back.”

Donors are required to be at least 16 and weigh more than 110 pounds.

“The one pint that we give saves three adults’ or six babies lives,” Bolton said.

Participants will receive a free t-shirt after donating one pint of blood.

“I’ve never done it before and I’m on this ‘do things that are good for others’ deed,” Via said.

The forms can be turned in on Dec. 7 and 8, during all lunches.

“It’s definitely worth it because you really are helping someone with your blood,” sophomore Valeria Hernandez said. “Just by knowing that you’re doing something that can change a person’s life should be enough for you to donate.”
