CW Spin-Off Show Comes Back for Second Season

After an exhilarating first season, “The Originals”, the show with the most supernatural beings on the CW started off with Niklaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley’s (Phoebe Tonkin) baby being sent away with Niklaus’s sister, Rebekah (Claire Holt), who is leaving New Orleans to start a new life.

The Mikaelson brothers faced many enemies in the first season, but nothing could prepare them for what they are up against now. Niklaus and Elijah are met with their biggest fears, their very own mother and father, the two people who want to end their existence. Here is a quick recap of what has been going on so far.

In the first episode, Niklaus is in their current residence watching the people go by while in a cut scene Elijah is walking around New Orleans trying to find the witches that killed his niece. Hayley with her new vampire abilities is growing hungrier every day. Basically, they all are handling their pain in their own ways.

Moving to the second episode, Klaus and Elijah make a plan to get rid of all of the wolves that now rule the city in their absence. The brothers have a problem with the fact that no one has stepped up to stop the wolves and their growing population.

At the end of the episode it cuts between Davina (Danielle Campbell) and the graveyard where the witches live. That is where we discover that the head of the witches is their mother, which is expected since she is always jumping from one host to the next. However, Davina has the most fearful and powerful weapon of all, Mikael, the father of all of the original vampires. He is under Davina’s command, and though he is at her mercy he is trying so hard to break her control over him. Mikael also possesses the only thing that can kill an original, the powerful White Oak stake.

In the third episode, the brothers finally come face-to-face with both of their parents. Astounded by their encounter, they both contemplate their next course of action. After a few little details and cut scenes of the story they end up going after their mother, who escapes. Elijah and Klaus will probably make another attempt to kill their parents and destroy anyone who gets in their way.

In the future episodes, I predict that Hayley will become leader of the werewolves again, even though she’s a hybrid now. As a hybrid, the wolves do not respect her anymore because now she’s their natural enemy. She is more powerful than them, so I’m sure they will all eventually join her and even Klaus and Elijah.

If you haven’t seen this show yet, you can get a feel for the characters through The Vampire Diaries show, since these characters are introduced in Season 2. This show isn’t as good as Vampire Diaries but runs a close
