The second annual Fall Festival, featuring a Trunk or Treat, will be Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the parking lot in front of the theater.
“The event last year was a great success,” Theater Director Kenneth Fudge said. “We worked to gather all participants, and we had every MISD feeder school participate. We expect this year to grow even bigger.”
The festival will feature a trunk or treat, face painting, games and performances.
“It was a really cool experience to be a part of,” senior Alex Silerio said. “It was heartwarming to see the little kids in their Halloween costumes going around to each trunk and getting candy.”
The event is free to the community.
“Everyone is invited,” Fudge said. “We would love to open it up to everyone in our community.”
This year the Fall Festival will be even larger, Fudge said.
“We have campus administration helping us gather all the support from around the campus,” Fudge said. “Many clubs, teams and organizations and the surrounding community are going to participate.”
To participate in the event or donate candy, please find Fudge in the theater room.
“We would like to make it a tradition here every fall around Halloween,” Fudge said. “We think the community could use some activities and events like this throughout the year. We want to let the community become more familiar with our school and everything we offer.”
Students will be volunteering at the event.
“I ran out of candy fast because I gave out so much,” Silerio said. “I’ve never done something like that before so it was cool. It felt good to be a part of a community event like that and it brought a lot of people together.”
