With a score of 55-10, the Varsity football team won their game against Grapevine HS at Vernon Newsom Stadium, in Mansfield last Friday night.
“I feel like I could have played better,” junior Caden Bates said. “The team overall played well but we still need to reduce the mistakes.”
Varsity is 5-4. The team managed to score eight times during this game.
“I wouldn’t say we did amazing but good enough to get the job done,” Bates said. “It’s just little mistakes that need to be fixed.”
Junior Chance Collins said he was grateful for his teammates over the last four years.
“It’s very sad for me because I’m pretty close with a lot of them,” Collins said.
The team’s next game will be away at Colony HS on Nov. 1, at 7 p.m.
Collins said, “We have to make sure we start strong because they have nothing to lose.”
