Art and publication students visited the Dallas Zoo for a field trip on Oct. 24, to complete various assignments for their classes.
“I went to the zoo to draw the animals with my friends from ceramics,” senior Madyson Garcia said.
Students independently explored the zoo at their own pace.
“Honestly, I loved my assignment,” Garcia said. “It wasn’t difficult, so that’s a plus.”
Art students focused on drawing animals for their project.
“I liked my assignment since I got to do what I’m good at,” junior Angela Gallegos said. “The assignment was fairly easy and fun.”
This is an annual trip for art and publication students.
“I’ve been to the zoo for the past two years,” Gallegos said. “Even though this is my third time going, I still enjoyed it and found it easier to get around.”
The Dallas Zoo has over 2,000 animals like flamingos, tigers and elephants.
“I like looking at the animals and getting to spend time with my friends,” Gallegos said. “The baby animals make me want to come back again.”
Students encountered rain throughout the day.
“I would love to come again,” Garcia said. “I had a fun time with my friends and it was really cool to see all the animals and draw them.”
