Theater will perform “Clue: High School Edition,” based on the classic Hasbro board game, Oct. 25-28 and Nov. 2-4 at 7 p.m., at the Performing Arts Center.
“We wanted a comedy and ensemble play which meant the cast would be all together,” Director Kenneth Fudge said. “There was another option but when me and my kids watched Clue in a theater, it solidified the choice.”
The seating arrangement is going to be different for this play as there are limited accommodations. The chairs are placed throughout the set on stage.
“The in-the-round stage makes the cast closer to the audience,” senior Emma Taylor said. “It will feel like they are in the show and the chaos going on.”
In the absence of a singular main character, most of the roles have an equal amount of lines.
“We had a lot of auditioners, and it was hard,” Fudge said. “I feel like we got the best combination because if you get the casting wrong, you have to deal with it throughout the whole play.”
Everyone had to prepare quickly due to the musical and the play dates changing last minute.
“We switched the dates, and we were going to do our Freaky Friday musical on these dates,” Fudge said. “I had to work on the show in one night, and we worked on it for two and a half months.”
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., Tickets for the play are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
“I advise people to come early for the show,” Fudge said. “After 100 tickets are sold, we don’t admit anyone in.”
Tickets are $8 at the door.
“I hope that it is an immersive experience that surprises and makes them laugh,” Taylor said. “This play is not meant to be serious.”
