Ways to Keep Busy as Temperature Drops

According to the National Center for Environmental Information (NOAA), this September was the wettest one on Texas record for the past 100 years. The abundance of rainfall has continued throughout October accompanied by cold winds and a large drop in temperature. Here are a few things you can do to get through this chilly fall.

  • Visit the Dallas World Aquarium. Not many people will visit the aquarium while it is cold, making it less crowded and overall an enjoyable trip. Admission is $21 per adult.
  • Host a movie marathon night. There are only a few things you need to have to make the night: a large supply of hot chocolate, plenty of cozy blankets and a selection of movies.
  • Take a bath. Fill up the tub with hot water and watch as the scented bath bomb colors the bubbles. Light up some candles and hop into the tub with a good book and voila, you have a nice bath to relax in.
  • Bake cookies. Nothing feels better than a home overfilled with the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. They are easy to make whether made with a box or from scratch. Enjoy them with a glass of milk as you share the cookies with friends and family.
  • Be productive. Doing your homework early or cleaning your room will boost anyone’s mood as it is quick and makes your life easier. With all this time being stuck at home, make the most out of it and get things done.
  • Take a good nap. Use the ambiance the weather outside creates and take a nice relaxing nap. It’ll pass the time and give you a well-deserved rest.
  • Go to the Parks Mall at Arlington and buy early Christmas gifts. Many stores have discounts and sales specifically for the fall season. So, utilize those deals and save some money while getting in the holiday spirit.
