Poetry Night will be hosted by Timberview African Students Association (TASA) in the PAC on Dec. 11, in order to raise money for the charity Chance for Education.

“I feel like I can share a piece of myself that not many people have seen for a good cause,” junior Dante Roberts said.

The theme of the event is “Just Live.”

“The message that we (TASA) want to convey is that life can be tough and we may have questions, but for every bad thing that happens in life, there is something good,” TASA Sponsor Nicole Collins said.

Senior Shealyn Hardrick said she cannot wait since she enjoyed last year’s event.

“The feel of it (Poetry Night) was incredible,” she said. “Everything was well organized and the poems moved me.”

Collins said she believes the function will be successful.

“Last year, we introduced it to the school with the hopes that it would work out,” she said. “This year, we have the experience and the formula down to make it work.”

Roberts said he has high expectations for this event.

“I’m thrilled and anxious to see the outcome,” he said. “I feel like it will have a way better turnout.”
