Over 30 colleges participated in the annual college fair on Nov. 13, during all lunches in the Commons.
“I talked to eight schools and I really like how professional they were,” sophomore Afolajuwon Ajuwon said. “I also like how they talked about the major and the requirements to get into the college because it gave me a head start.”
The free fair provided students of all grades a chance to explore their future options.
“I liked it because I got an idea of how each college is and I can see my options,” freshman Pricilla Akinde said.
Representatives attended from schools including Texas Tech to UTA, which is locally based.
“UNT is one of the bigger schools,” senior Israel Oyejide said. “I want to explore new things and I’m also going for Computer Science.”
Military branches were also present.
“I want to go to the military because it is going to pay for school, mainly nursing school and after that I’m going to have a couple of years serving,” sophomore Chloe Mitchell said.
This is the second year for the event.
“It is important to have this, as many of our students do not have transportation to evening college fair events,” Counselor Tonya Willis said. “It is important to me to make college goal dreams clear and as accessible as possible.”
