Art and photography students visited the Fort Worth Zoo for a field trip on Oct.29, to complete various assignments for their classes.
“I’m in photojournalism so I had to take pictures of the animals and the art students that sketched them,” junior Ahmed Elhaddad said. “I enjoyed every bit of the zoo and it didn’t even feel like an assignment.
Students explored the zoo at their own pace.
“I traveled to the zoo with my friends,” sophomore Afolajuwon Ajuwon said. “We were able to see most of the animals and then we met back with everyone at the end of the day”
After several years of visiting the Dallas Zoo, the group went to Fort Worth Zoo.
“The zoo was amazing,” sophomore Aiden Young said. “I wasn’t very familiar with it since it was my first time going there.”
Some of the students had double the work because they were in both publications and art.
“It was stressful trying to complete both assignments,” junior Helen Serrano said. “I had to limit my zoo experience because I had to sketch and take pictures.”
