With the score of 1-3, the Varsity Volleyball team fell short in their first round playoff game against Azle High School in an away game on Thursday night.
“I feel sad because we’re not going to be able to play with our seniors anymore and I’m proud of how far we got in the playoffs,” sophomore Brooklyn Piper said. “I played very well in this last game and the team played well.”
Entering playoffs,Varsity stood at 8-6 and finished fourth in the 5A Region District 8.
“I felt good and proud; it was more than I expected but I’m very proud that we made it here,” junior Faith Mcclellan said, “l love how close we are and our chemistry with each other.”
As volleyball finishes the season with an overall record of 12-24, the final point was scored by Piper.
“We were evenly matched,” Coach Stacy McDonald said. “I think they had some key players and left it all on the floor.”
McDonald said she is looking forward to working with the girls in the future.
“I’m excited not just for this year but for years to come,” she said. “They had come together like a family and they were there for one another and when you have that unit of just a family core, everybody leans on each other and that helps us build that success.”
