With a score of 55-14, the Varsity team won their game against Newman Smith at Standridge in Carrollton, last Friday night.
“It was a good win,” sophomore Cedric Portley said. “We scored a lot of points and didn’t allow the opponents a lot of points.”
The Varsity team is now 5-0.
“This is a family, all we do is perform,” senior Bethel Addo said. “Some teams just come out here and play football, but we come out here and play for each other. That’s all we can really do on this field.”
Newman Smith scored twice during the game.
“We, as a team, need to step up our discipline,” junior Landon Blair said. “We had too many penalties tonight so if we can work on that, we will be a team that’s undefeated.”
The Wolves’ next game is Homecoming, this Friday against Birdville at Vernon Newsom Stadium at 7 p.m.
“HOCO week, we all love it of course,” Addo said. “We’ve got Birdville, and they are a good looking team, but like I said, I trust in my family. We are going to go out there and do what we always do.”
