With a score of 55-14, the Varsity football team won their second game of the season against Sam Houston at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, last Thursday night.
“At first we were not playing to our expectations,” senior Cameron Bates said. “(Then) we got into our groove and executed how we were supposed to.”
Sam Houston scored immediately after kickoff, starting the game off 0-7.
“We came out a little bit slow, but we also had some adjustments that we needed to make,” senior Zuric Humes said. “After the second half, we came back and we were able to come out with the win.”
After kicking a field goal, the Wolves were leading the game 24-7 by the end of the first half.
“We came out the second half with a whole bunch of energy,” junior Sean Larry said. “Kickoff was great, defense was great, offense was great, we were good on all of the cores.”
The next game is away this Friday, against W.T. White at 7 p.m., at Alfred J. Loos Stadium in Dallas.
“We are gonna go out there and do the same thing,” Humes said. “But this time we are gonna start off hot a lot earlier, so we can just get out of the game quicker.”
