Celebrities Deserve Privacy Too
You see so many trends on Twitter and Instagram referring to the current popular topics. But there are some things that just shouldn’t trend. Hashtags such as #CelebrityNudes, #NakedCelebrities and #CelebritiesExposed are ridiculous.
By now everyone knows about the recent celebrity hacks. Everyone wanted to have a look at the leaked photos. However, the whole thing makes my skin crawl.
All people have the right to their own privacy. The decisions you make in the secrecy of your own home or on your phone do not concern anyone but yourself.
The same should go for celebrities. They are constantly put in front of cameras, and the world expects them to be perfect. They have very little privacy because gossip sites seem to know the smallest details about their lives these days.
If a celebrity wants to send a revealing picture to their husband or long-time boyfriend, then they have the right to. It is not fair that since they are famous, they are expected to be perfect people who never do some of the things that normal people get away with.
It is disgusting that when naked pictures of celebrities get publicized, they spread everywhere. You can’t go to your favorite apps such as Instagram or Twitter without seeing the pictures themselves or the jokes made about them, which is the worst part. Not only do the celebrities have to live with the fact that everyone has now seen every part of their body, whether they wanted them to or not, but they also have to learn to ignore the jokes and rude comments made about their body.
At the end of the day, those pictures were for one specific person or even just a picture those celebrities took to feel good about themselves. They don’t deserve to be publicly humiliated just so gossip websites can gain more readers. Celebrities are humans too and have the right to do the same things normal people do. We should respect them just as we would respect ourselves.
