Last month, Head Coach Beth Wills scored her 500th win when the Lady Wolves beat Keller Central.

As the buzzer signals the end of the game, the Lady Wolves, with smiles on their faces, present a poster with the number 500 on it to their Varsity Coach Beth Wills. The celebration lasts only for a couple of minutes though, because the volleyball team has to play another game right after.

At the Northwest Classic tournament last month, Wills scored her 500th win when the Varsity Volleyball team beat Keller Central.

“I was super happy for her, ” senior Courtney Perry said. “She puts so much time into volleyball and our team, (so) for her to get 500 wins is amazing.”

Wills said the challenges each year are unlike before.

“Every year is different (with) new faces, new possibilities and (excitement),” she said.

The team’s personal goals have never changed, Wills said.

“Offensively, we adjust to our personnel each year, but we always have the same expectations,” she said. “Do the right thing, give your teammates and your school 100 percent each day and believe in our volleyball family.”

Each team member contributes greatly, varsity member Kalin Barnes said.

“Every athlete has put in a lot of work for Coach,” she said.

Although she is close to retiring, Wills said she chooses to continue coaching for now.

“Timberview is where I choose to be because I believe in our students, our staff, our family and in our administrators,” Wills said. “Our school has always stepped up to any challenge ahead of us.”
