The holiday season is in full swing and it’s a great time to make meaningful memories with your friends and family. There are many holiday events going on around the DFW area, from ice shows to light displays. If you’re looking to get into the spirit of the season, this guide has you covered.

Gaylord Texan ICE! Exhibit
What: Over two million pounds of colored ice will be on display during the annual event. The theme is “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” which features sculptures that showcase characters from the cartoon.
When: Through Jan. 3
Where: Gaylord Texan Convention Center in Grapevine

North Park Trains
What: There will be winding tracks and elaborate backdrops, on the second level of the Dallas mall, near Nordstrom, including the daily Scrooge Puppet Theatre and photo ops with Santa at North Park Center.

Where: North Park Center in Dallas

Prairie Lights
What: Look at some of the best holiday light displays in North Texas from the warmth and comfort of your vehicle at Prairie Lights, with the option to get out and play at a holiday village about halfway through. The fun ends with a tunnel of lights lighting your vehicle’s path.

Holiday in the Park
What: Six Flags Over Texas’ Holiday in the Park will have light shows, costumed Santa Claus’ and other holiday activities to put a holiday spin on the amusement park’s usual assortment of rides and games. Make sure to sample the hot chocolate and kettle corn.

Where: Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington

Frisco Square
What: Frisco Square will be hosting nightly light and music shows to go along with their temporary outdoor ice rink. On weekends, snow machines will be sending snowflakes across the square. Visitors can also enjoy the wintry effects during a carriage ride. A big bash on Dec. 19, will feature Santa, holiday treats and a snow slide.

Wander Walk
What: Wander Walk through downtown Dallas, is every Thursday through Christmas. This event transforms downtown Dallas into a “winter wonderland” with pop-up shops, live music and art. Light displays and other decorations make it a great place for a stroll or some holiday shopping.
