New Underground Artist Rises

Raury Tullis. You probably don’t know his name but you should. This 19-year-old, Stone Mountain, Georgia native has done more than the average teenager. He was actually signed to Columbia Records at 17, released a hit mix tape Indigo Child, a hit single God’s Whisper and went on a world tour at 18.

If you aren’t keeping track of this upcoming hot talent, than you should be. He released his first commercial debut album “All We Need’’ on Oct 16.

The hipster vibe on this LP brings out the best of many music genres because of its diverse mixture of Folk, Hip-Hop and Soul. The 14 tracks use deep imagery to tell a story on every track.

This album picks up right where Raury’s last project “Indigo Child” left off. It is just a more intense version and a better project because of details on every song. After hearing so many repetitive tunes lately, this is unique in sound, lyricism and overall quality. Raury speaks from the heart on every song; he holds nothing back. He uses profound words that create poetic lyrics. He is not afraid to speak about political or social issues.

The album titled track talks about how we should discover love in everything and everyone while just leaving the materialistic things at bay. While the “Devil’s Whisper” just brings solid soulful vibes, it’s strong message is about not falling in the traps that are placed in front of you and to not become a victim of this cruel world where you can lose yourself.

“All We Need’’ is the best of 2015 so far but it will probably have poor sales and low air time just because of the fact that it gets deep and addresses the problems that we are faced with today. I just hope this album gets exposure because it could bring about great change to the youth and for only $10, it is truly a one of a kind masterpiece.
