I, Frankenstein Movie Nearly Total Monstrosity
Looking for a good movie to spend your hard-earned cash on? If so, don’t go see the dead-beat movie “I, Frankenstein.” This movie is a spin on the old classic novel “Frankenstein” written by Mary Shelly. However, this tale is set 200 years after Frankenstein’s monster, named Adam, is cast away from his creator. After getting revenge for this act and killing his master, Adam gets tied up in a war between Gremlins and Demons who want to bring back their dead to rule the world.
When I was watching the film, I felt like I had seen it before. I didn’t find any originality in the plot at all. Even though the film stars Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy and Jai Courtney, the action sequences, dialogue and overall plot seemed like something out of any other “solo hero” type movie. It even had the usual scene where the hero is injured in battle, and the damsel-in-distress takes him to a secluded location to patch him up. During this event, they learn more about each other and their backgrounds.
The only thing that caught my eye was the special effects. The film was full of them, and they looked amazing. I couldn’t turn my eyes away from the film when I saw the work obviously put into this movie. The transformation of the creatures into humans seemed very realistic to me; it was as if those characters were actually mystical beings playing the role. Sadly, this gorgeous effect was the only reason I stayed in the theater.
This Frankenstein remake really puts emphasis on today’s technological capabilities. The animations in the movie looked terrific and the special effects were hard to ignore. Unfortunately, the effects are the only reason to watch this movie. Nothing else about the film is very appealing, from the atrocious plot to the lack of original content. Hopefully, no movie company will try to resurrect this monstrosity anytime in the future.
