Although the semester has begun for the majority students, those enrolled in TCC Dual Credit Courses don’t have to attend class until Jan.17.

“I’m happy that we get two weeks off from TCC,” senior Journi Robinson said. “It’s definitely a good thing and with all the extra time on my hands, I can get my work done quickly and efficiently.”

Senior David Nguyen said he leaves school an hour and a half early.

“I enjoy the extra time off because I’m able to grab some lunch and take a nap,” he said. “Sometimes the library is just too noisy for me, so I just work at home.”

Others, like Robinson, felt at home spending the extra time in the library.

“I’ve been spending my free time catching up on other school work and relaxing,” Robinson said.

Senior Carlos Lopez said he uses the free periods as an opportunity to get organized.

“We’re technically college students, so we deserve that time for ourselves,” he said. “I have much more time to do other stuff like fill out college applications and apply for scholarships.”
