How to Get Ready in 15 Minutes

We’ve all been there before. You set your alarm for 6 a.m., but sadly woke up 40 minutes later with only 15 minutes left to catch the bus. So here are some tips and tricks to get you out of the door in no time at all.

First, continue your regular morning routine, but disregard the numerous distractions such as scrolling through your Instagram feed, watching “Netflix” or arguing with siblings. Cutting out these time-wasters may just give you that extra minute to get in the classroom before the bell rings.

Hair can be very time consuming and since hats are against school dress code try a nice headband. Remember the brighter or more unique the headband, the more you will distract other student’s attention from your hair. I promise you, all people will be thinking about is your lime green cheetah spotted headband, not the kinks or tangles in your hair.

Picking out clothes can be simple, but the key is to not focus too much on what you are wearing. Strive to lie out the clothes you want to wear at night for the next day. If you like living life on the edge, try fishing through your sibling’s closet and picking out an eye catcher. You might be surprised with the different types of outfits you can pull off. If all that is too much for you, then find the most comfortable hoodie and rock it.

Now, you’re almost out the door, so do a mental checklist of your class schedule to make sure you have all the essentials. Try skimming through your planner to see what textbooks, notebooks or assignments you will need that day.

Before you race to the bus like Usain Bolt, make sure you have some energy to fuel your fire. Instead of a fancy IHOP breakfast, grab something quick but nutritious such as a “Nature Valley” granola bar or slab a spoonful of “Nutella” on wheat bread. Then, you are ready to go. Remember, don’t be late!
