The Varsity Boys Basketball team continued their season with a win of 60-46 against Burleson HS, on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
“The only thing that can get in the way of the team is us,” Assistant Coach Taylor Johnson said.
Varsity has an overall record of 23-6 and a district record of 7-2, which puts the team third.
“I feel our season is going well,” junior Jaden Marshall said. “We still think we have some things to work on like our chemistry.”
Coach Johnson said the team can go a long way.
“We can go far in the playoffs if our guys can stay healthy and consistent,” Johnson said.
The Wolves lost many senior players because of graduation.
“I don’t think losing seven seniors affected us,” Johnson said. “We have a good group of
young guys that learned from the seniors.”
Boys basketball has an away record of 8-0.
“I feel the reason for our good away record is the fact that we trust each other,” junior Jaden Goudeau said.
The team continues their schedule on Tuesday, 7 p.m., against Everman High School.
Goudeau said, “We just have to play together and play how we usually play and we will win.”
