With a score of 67-43, the Girl’s Varsity Basketball Team won their game against the Summit Jaguars on Dec. 8, at home, keeping their undefeated record.

“Summit was a great win,” senior Allyson Hinds said. “We didn’t really play well in the first half but we able to get it back in the second half.”

Junior Chennedy Carter said the team expects to be successful.

“I expect to be number one in our district,” Carter said. “I can’t predict how far we will go but in my vision I hope to see state.”

This team is different from others in the district, according to Hinds.

“One of our main advantages is that everyone can score,” she said. “A lot of teams have only one or two people that can really do damage. We share the ball so well that you have to be able to stop all of us.”

Senior E’Lexus Murrell said there are areas of their game that can be improved on to enhance the team’s overall gameplay.

”There needs to be an improvement on our shooting percentages from the perimeter and communication on transition defense,” she said.

The next home game will be against Seguin High School at 6:30 p.m.
