In order to offer tutoring for students who can’t make it before or after school, NHS is hosting a session during lunches on Tuesdays in room 2102.

“This is our first year doing ‘Tutoring Tuesdays,’” AP Calculus teacher Erica Marburger said. “This semester we’re trying to include all subjects.”

Senior Eniola Adesanya is a tutor who specializes in math and science.

“I’m in AP Calculus, so I can probably help with Pre-Cal (and) downwards,” he said.

Marburger said Adesanya interprets questions well.

“He’s really good at figuring out another way to explain the problem,” she said.

“Tutoring Tuesdays” was the idea of Algebra I teacher Brooke Trujillo who brainstormed it with Principal Derrell Douglas.

“(Trujillo) wanted to find a way to help her students a little better because they were complaining that they can’t come in before school (for tutoring) because of rides and after because of sports,” Marburger said.

Marburger said if attendance doesn’t approve, the program may not be around next year.

She said, “Right now, we’re not having very many students come, so we need to get more in here.”
