PTSA Star Wars Screening Sold Out

A private screening of the new Star Wars movie Defeat of the Force, hosted by Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) on Dec. 18, at 10 p.m., is now sold out.

“The PTSA board decided on the movie night last spring and we negotiated with Disney and Cinemark to present the movie on opening night,” PTSA member Rodney Kyle said. “This is a huge opportunity for the school to have a private screening of Star Wars on opening night.”

Sophomore Robby Passmore is thrilled about the movie choice.

“(I’m) excited because the school is getting involved with something I like,” he said.

With help from Disney, Cinemark was able to provide an exclusive theater for the movie night.

“Mansfield Cinemark was helpful in assisting us with Disney to host opening night,” Kyle said.

Passmore said the movie tickets, which included a concession card, were sold at a much better price.

“It was a good deal compared to other tickets out there,” he said.

PTSA President Melissa Jones said the movie night is a good opportunity to spend time with friends and family.

She said, “Families have the opportunity to see a movie that is very popular, (plus) they will get a $5 concession card and they also (will) help support PTSA as a fundraiser all while enjoying it with other students, families and friends.”
