New AP Downs Starts Today

New AP Le’Ann Downs will replace the vacancy left after AP Wendell Joubert’s promotion.

New Assistant Principal Le’Ann Downs was hired last week at the board meeting to replace the vacancy left after Assistant Principal Wendell Joubert was promoted to Building Associate Principal.

“I have heard nothing but positive words about the Timberview staff and students,” Downs said. “I’m honored to be (come) a part (of) a close family.”

She started today.

“I’m looking forward to going to games, performances and student activities,” Downs said.”The Timberview family has already made me feel so welcome.”

Downs has been in MISD for the past five years, most recently as a freshman English teacher at Mansfield High School.

“I am thrilled to make this move,” Downs said. “I’ve been practicing the hand gesture for Wolves Up and buying maroon colored clothing.”

This will be the first female AP, who handles disciplinary issues, since Zel Ready who transferred to Legacy at the end of last year.

“I feel more comfortable (with a female so) it’s a good change,” sophomore Ilka Megee said. “It will effect students views on how rules are perceived with the perspective of a female over a male.”

Downs said she is excited about the opportunity.

She said, “I truly believe Timberview High School has the best students, teachers and staff in MISD.”
