Out with summer and in with fall. As the weather cools and the leaves change color, it’s the perfect time to soak up the season and enjoy the activities that make this time of year special.
Come on over to the Dallas Farmers Market for some pumpkin painting and picking, live music, a variety of food options from nearby vendors, clothing and even some cozy fall decor. The market provides all types of fall fun for the public. For all of September and October, every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at 920 S Harwood St. in Dallas. The visit is free, with a $10-$20 parking fee depending on the day.
Join the fun and get cozy to watch seasonal movies for free with your friends at Griggs Park, 2200 Hugo St, in Dallas. It starts Oct. 7, and following every Tuesday at 7 p.m. until the end of the month. The movies being screened will be Mean Girls, A Cinderella Story, viewers’ choice of either The Goonies or When Harry Met Sally, and lastly Hocus Pocus. Bring along your closest friends, fluffy blankets, pillows and your preferred fall treats!
Walk through the lights and prepare to be mesmerized by the goodness at Pumpkin Nights at 4016 W Division St, in Arlington, every day starting Sept. 18 to Oct. 31, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets vary with weekdays costing $22-$26, and weekends $32-$36. Get ready to take selfies as you stroll through the many trails of lights all around you, visit the pumpkin patch, and try the delicious meals that nearby food trucks have prepared for you to taste.
In the mood for a sweet, tasty drink? Drive yourself right on over to your closest Starbucks and treat yourself to their seasonal fall menu. The menu was released on Aug. 26, and will typically end in early November. The drinks being offered this season are the Pumpkin Spice Latte Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai, Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte and a new item called the Pecan Oatmilk Cortado. Ingredients include real pumpkin, espresso, milk and spices like cinnamon and nutmeg in the Pumpkin Spice Latte, along with sugar and natural flavors in the pumpkin spice sauce. Don’t wait too long and go sip a taste of fall!
Staying inside with friends during a cold, chilly day can always be a blast! Take a trip to the Dollar Store or Hobby Lobby to buy cheap pumpkins, paintbrushes and paint. Go back home and decorate to your liking, with a fall playlist playing in the background, and having the comfort of your friends there with you.
