Adele Makes Another Amazing Album
November 20, 2015
Adele, the voice heard around the world.
This UK star needs no introduction. However, for those living under a rock, she is the recipient of 10 Grammy Awards, 13 Billboard Music Awards, four American Music Awards BT Digital Music Award, four Brit Awards, an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. Her history says it all.
Like her or not, Adele is the best singer and songwriter of our generation. It’s been four years since she has enlightened us with her amazing voice but today she gifted us with her latest album “25.’’
The theme of this 11 song album is again romance and making up. Once again she is singing about love. However, in her last album “21” she was angrier. This time she is more reflective and admits that maybe she is at fault for some of her relationship issues.
The first track “Hello”, which was also the first single released, has already been heard by millions of people. She broke endless records and should have. You can hear how she uses all her musical gifts. Her voice just runs through listeners with every note she hits. This emotional song will empower you and more than anything is great to sing along with.
The most surprising song is ”Send My Love”. This is the first track where I can hear Adele trying new stuff and venturing out of her comfort zone. Luckily for us, the piano, bass, drums and a killer hook, is a perfect combination. The title is probably the closest song on the album to pop. I guarantee it will be her next record-breaking song. I just wish there were more of this.
”Remedy” is my favorite song. She just shows off on this song by going up and hitting those high notes so beautifully. You can hear the sorrowing tone in her voice. The grand piano melody in the background compliments her voice and creates a harmony that brings the whole song together.
Another highlight is ”Million Years Ago” because it has the same feel from ”Remedy” but instead of her being accompanied by a grand piano, she is complimented with a guitar. She isn’t sacred to talk about personal emotions, which is why she has connected with so many people.
“River Lea” is another attempt to try something new sound wise. The catchy chorus will likely make this another fan favorite. Like in “Hello”, fans will notice her vocal range is really strong. Instead of just belting out the sound, she can actually sing the song with a subtle force.
The album ends with “Sweetest Devotion,” an upbeat melody that starts with a giggling child in the background. What is different about the song is that it reflects on an Adele who has grown up. She is married now and has a child, which is why she is less angry and more reflective. This is an interesting but reflective track to end with.
I wasn’t a big fan of Adele’s but now I’m a die-hard. Her voice is a mix of a haunting yet soothing tone. With the titles like “Send My Love” and “River Lea,” she unlocked a new part of herself and mastered it at the same time. Go ahead and splurge, buy the entire album. All of the songs are enjoyable. Adele has said in interviews that she would never be able to compete with the success of her last album “21.” Obviously, she doesn’t know how talented she is.
