Bad Grandpa Funny, Atrocious From Beginning To End
Any movie written by and starring Johnny Knoxville is sure to have crude humor and outrageous stunts. The 92-minute film “Bad Grandpa”, starring Knoxville and Jackson Nicoll, is a hidden camera comedy that had viewers laughing from start to finish.
Viewers are brought to the funeral of Ellie Zisman, the wife of 86-year-old Irving Zisman (Knoxville). If the death of his wife isn’t enough for him to deal with, his daughter Kimmie explains that she has just violated her parole. This sets the movie in motion because Irving must now take Billy (Nicoll), to his deadbeat father.
The entire movie features Irving and Billy traveling to North Carolina by car, and dragging around his deceased wife in the trunk of their car in order to grant Ellie her dying wish to be buried in the south.
If knowing that the dead wife is in the trunk isn’t enough to make you squeal with laughter, there are plenty of ridiculous stunts performed by Knoxville. Like, Knoxville’s airbag exploding in his parked car outside of a gas station where oblivious citizens believe he’s actually hurt.
Toward the end of the movie, Irving becomes accustomed to having Billy around and he doesn’t stay with his father. How will they make it to their final destination to fulfill Ellie’s wish?
While “Bad Grandpa” is hilariously disturbing, the ending is enough to give you a warm and fuzzy feeling.
