Preppy, experienced, and excited cheerleaders, the perfect place for a person who wants to participate in the newly created position in National Cheerleading Association called the Jr. Reporter. This position will allow a student to do and go many places that other cheerleaders can’t.
Varsity cheerleader, Arianna Henderson applied and interviewed with the cheer company to try and get the position. Many Dallas/Fort Worth cheerleaders applied and Arianna got selected for the Jr. Reporter. Arianna’s cheerleading helped her get this position.
“If I was Arianna I would be very excited. She is a very experienced girl in cheerleading so she deserves it. I would not be able to wait until I could go to the NCA nationals,” varsity cheerleader Melissa Drue said.
Arianna participated in the All American Cheerleading and the older and more experienced cheerleaders requested her to try out. They told Arianna that she had a great, positive attitude and could succeed very well. So, Arianna decided to go for it.
“Arianna is an all around great cheerleader. She is always smiling and always has a great attitude,” junior cheerleader Jennifer Gonzales said.
The last time Arianna participated in NCA she competed on a squad and they did very well. Since that competition, she decided that she would like to go farther and become more known in NCA. This decision made Arianna try out for the NCA Jr. Reporter. At the next competition, which will take place on April 14, Arianna plans on taking her team to a higher level.
“At our last competition we did really well. I think that our next competition on April 14 we will succeed even more,” junior cheerleader Katerina Lilly said.
On Dec.29 and Dec.30 Arianna attended the NCA High School Nationals where she interviewed cheerleaders and coaches. Also, in Feb. she will attend the All-Star Nationals to interview more cheerleaders and coaches about how their teams will succeed and how much they have practiced to get where they are now. Arianna could also gain a chance of airing on television when the competitions come around.
“Arianna is going to be a great Jr. Reporter just like she is at being our captain. At the nationals in Feb. she is going to put the cheerleaders in a great mood,” senior cheerleader Madison Castillo said.
