Alexandra Plancarte Editor-in-Chief

Bonjour! J m’ appelle Alexandra Plancrate and I’m a junior, I’ve been in journalism since freshman year and in newspaper for two going on three years. I’m the editor-in-chief for The Outlook. I’m half Mexican and half Indian just a little fact about me. In UIL I do news writing. I am in Key Club, League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), French Club and I am the manger of the Celebrities Drill Team. My goals in life are either to be a video game designer; video game host like Attack of the Show on G4, or a writer for Teen Vogue or Vogue then become an editor for those magazines. My hobbies include shopping, drawing, surfing the Net, writing, and school. Au revior!

Sarah Gormley Journalist

Hey “Timberview America!” I’m Sarah Gormley. I am a sophomore. I love writing and hope one day to have a job in journalism. This is my first time ever to be on a newspaper staff, and I am ready to take on the challenge. Although I have done yearbook for the last four years, I’m ready for something new, like newspaper. I have been writing since I was in the womb. I am the football videographer. I go to every football game, near or far wherever the team goes, I tag along. In my family, I am known as the first loser because whenever I enter my writing in a contest, I always get second or finalist. So remember if youre second you are always the first loser! But, overall I am so excited to be serving all of you by bringing the THS news to your attention. Live long and prosper!

Laurel Adams Journalist

I’m Laurel Adams and I’m a SENIOR! Bum…Bum…Bum! I’ve met a few random people, but never more random than me. I began writing in the third grade when I was an obsessive Sailor Moon fan and an aspiring songwriter. But those days are over. I’ve moved on to more mature things, like this newspaper stuff for instance. It’s my first year and I’m stoked. Other than that, I’m in love with poetry and I write poems daily. In 2008 I won the best poem award at my school, which was pretty amazing.

Katrina Reeves Journalist

Hi, I’m Katrina Reeves and I have been writing as long as I can remember and enjoy sharing my stories with others. I love writing fiction but I can write anything from news to biographies. I have many goals I am working on and many I have reached. Currently my goal is to get the best grades I can. But my biggest goal in life is to become an elementary teacher and that I will be working on for awhile. I read all the time, mostly fiction novels and can get into a book with the littlest piece of time. But most of my time, other than school and chores, is taken up by the one sport I have been playing since I can remember, softball. I love playing softball and play it as much as I can.

Dean Mooney Adviser

I’m Dean Mooney and I am the adviser and Captain of this starship that is bolding going where we have never been before. I am also a huge Star Trek fan. Okay, I’ve never been to a convention and I have never dressed in a Starfleet uniform, BUT I would if I could get one that looked authentic wasn’t cheaply made. I digress. Starting last year, the newspaper staff went from a print paper to strictly on-line. It has definitely been an adventure. There is a reason adviser ends with “ER”. Not only are we writers now, but we are videographers, video editors and web programmers. These are exciting times for The Outlook. To think, 16 years ago we were shooting on film and using red grease pencils to crop a photograph. Amazing!

I have been advising journalism for the past 16 years. Every year is different and full of learning new things. Until the past few years, I have been a control freak when it comes to advising journalism but I have learned to let that go and trust the students. I have found they have amazing capabilities and will do what is expected of them. If you expect great things, you will get great things. Year after year, I am very proud of the work they accomplish.
